Wooooooo! That’s the word that springs to mind when I think of last nights FRONTIER show. It was a truly remarkable night of action that left our fans in Belfast buzzing with excitement, not least because their home town hero, Jason Talbot, was back in FRONTIER action!

The meet and greet session was a particular success this weekend as the Northern Ireland fans clamoured to meet the FRONTIER stars, as well as our guests including Chandler Scott and LJ Black. But two notable absentees were Madman Szalinski and Ariel, who were both nowhere to be found. In fact no-one had seen either of them all weekend, right up until the show itself started…

— VIDEO —

As the clock strikes bell time, the centre of the ring is occupied not by a typical ring announcer, but a denim-jacket clad Ariel Shadows. Clutching a microphone in her hands, she looks around the building briefly before bringing the microphone to her lips.

AS: Ladies and gentlemen… the number one contender for the GFC World Heavyweight Championship…

The crowd begins to cheer at near deafening levels. Ariel pauses for a moment, grinning ear to ear before proudly continuing on.

AS: Madman Szalinski!

Pointing towards the curtain at the top of the entryway to the ring, “Dr. Wily Part One” by The NESkimos is cued up. The capacity crowd in attendance does not have to wait long, as Madman Szalinski quickly bursts through the curtain, clad in an all-white singlet and mask under his black leather jacket and carrying a black duffel bag, which he hoists in the air to a large cheer. Jogging down to the ring, he only sticks out his free hand to swipe by the aisleway on the way to the ring, sliding in under the bottom rope and hopping to his feet, walking to Ariel as the music dies down and planting a kiss on her cheek, taking the microphone with a smile.

MS: You guys gotta bear with me here…I haven’t jerked the curtain in a long time!

Cheering and laughter are rampant throughout the building, but Szalinski only gives the fans a few seconds before he moves along.

MS: But I don’t want this waiting anymore. I have to get it off my chest. I need my boss, Matt Montell, to please come out here. I have something I need to discuss with him and it needs to be done right here in this ring, right now. Sir, please come out here for a second…

Szalinski glances towards the entryway, and awaits for Montell to make his presence in the arena…which he soon does, wasting little time on getting to the ring and up the ring steps.

MS: Thank you.

Montell steps towards Madman slowly, being heard through the microphone over the distance “what’s this about?”

MS: I’m going to cut right to the chase, sir. I think we can all agree that it’s official…I’m the number one contender. Right?

Matt nods.

MS: Okay. Here’s my deal. I’ve been in this business since 1999. I made my television debut when I was 17. I won my first title a month later. When I was 19, I won my first World title. When I was 21, I had seven titles to my name. And when I was 23…I could barely walk. I was fighting kidney damage from two years straight of ten Vike seven-fives a day. My brothers were dead. I delivered pizza to pay half the rent while I pawned my replica titles to cover the other half. And I am not blaming the business for what happened to me. I did it to myself. I was my own worst enemy.

At this point, Szalinski is blankly staring into the canvas. His eyes appear closed. For several seconds he is totally silent…but as soon as he is approached by Montell, he darts his head up like a deer, continuing to speak as if he never paused from his last sentence.

MS: But God blessed me with fame, fortune, health, and love all over again. And at 25, I was a multi-millionaire and back in the wrestling business. And oh yeah, I was a World champion again. And now, I’m 27 and I’ve held so many titles I can’t even tell you how many or when I won them. And I learned something about titles, sir.

Madman has to turn his head briefly before looking back at him, almost afraid of his words, but firm in them regardless.

MS: They’re bullshit!

The crowd boos Madman for the first time since his debut in FRONTIER. Matt seems a bit shocked, but only shows it by rubbing his chin. Meanwhile, Szalinski begins to pick up animosity in his words, frantically pacing around the ring as he yells seemingly to nobody.

MS: Every time I ever did something I regretted in this business, it was over a title. Every friend I ever sold out, it was over a title. Every time I crossed the line and went too far, it was over a title. And it’s always the world title, too. Everybody wants to be the champ. If they ain’t the champ, they’d do anything in the world to be the champ! If they are the champ, they’ll do anything in the world to stay the champ! Perfectly sane men and women turn into barbarians, into unrecognizable piles of ASSHOLE…BECAUSE THEY WANNA BE THE GOD DAMN WORLD CHAMPION!

Madman stops, and holds his shoulder briefly doubling over. Ariel rushes over and puts an arm around him, as Szalinski stops to control his breathing. Montell is quiet throughout Madman’s rant, patiently waiting.

MS: Sorry…the doctor warns me I can’t keep getting pissed off like that, it’s not good for my aortic valve…look…sir, I’m being honest. You don’t want me being the GFC World Heavyweight Champion. You have a perfectly good champion right now in Jay Pride. He’s clean, he’s straight-edge, he’s got the fan’s support, and he has the skills that a champion needs. I’m not that guy. You don’t want me on posters and doing interviews. And I don’t feel like going to the depths I would need to go in order to face Jay for that belt. Even if I beat him, I would become somebody I didn’t recognize anymore. And I mean no disrespect to you or this company, but no title is worth that to me. I’m sorry, but I’m not gonna face Jay for the World championship.

Matt purses his lips together, disappointed at this revelation. He nods, readying himself to turn and exit the ring. A raised finger from Szalinski stops him.

MS: BUT…this is the second time in three months I’m forfeiting a World title shot. I’m not walking away empty handed tonight. I have an idea, sir, if you will hear me out.

Montell looks back, nodding and saying “okay, okay.”

MS: Now, I’ve been reading up and watching old footage of FRONTIER. And I saw what kind of competition you guys used to bring to the table. And there’s one particular division, one particular title, that I wouldn’t mind holding. A belt that doesn’t stand for fame and fortune, it doesn’t stand for Hollywood or Wall Street…it stands for tradition, and it stands for wrestling. I don’t know if you’ve noticed sir…but I like wrestling.

Madman keeps his eyes on Matt, but speaks to the crowd.

MS: Does Belfast like wrestling?

The crowd reacts with a loud roar of approval, many following this with a “we want wrestling!” chant.

MS: Here’s what I’m asking. I don’t want a shot at the World title. Babe…

Ariel walks over to Madman, who gestures towards his bag. She unzips it, and holds the handles long enough for Madman to pull the contents out. Ariel removes the bag and tosses it to the floor, and the crowd erupts into a cheer so loud, the hard camera in the stands visibly shakes. Madman merely holds the object aloft in his outstretched arm.

MS: I want a shot at THIS title, sir.

Szalinski holds out the GFC Commonwealth Title.

MS: Chandler Scott got my first shot and he screwed up. Let me make it right. If he can beat me, let him have my shot at Jay Pride and give him another chance. He’ll have earned it this time. But if I win tonight, then let me reinstate this title and let me carry the FRONTIER banner in the best way I know how….please.

Szalinski holds the microphone to Montell, who slowly takes it. Madman brings the belt down, awaiting a response from his boss. Matt is slow to bring the microphone to his lips, waiting for the crowd to die down.

MM: Let me get this straight, you want to be the Commonwealth Champion?

Szalinski nods.

MM: Well your sense of timing is impeccable, I’ll give you that. I’ve been toying with the idea of bringing in the Commonwealth Championship for the past couple of months. And I see no better time, or place, than right now and right here in Belfast.

Yes, even Montell goes for the cheap pop once in a while.

MM: Ok, tonight you face Chandler Scott. If Scott wins, he gets a GFC World Championship shot. And if you win, I’ll let you keep that belt.

The crowd cheers and Madman high-fives Ariel. Montell is about to leave the ring when Madman stops him. He hands the Commonwealth belt to his boss and can be heard saying “it’s not mine… yet.”

— /VIDEO —

Well what a way to open the show, the introduction of the GFC Commonwealth Championship. And we could see our first champion crowned right here tonight!

But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s get the action underway with our first match. The Betamax Kid makes his FRONTIER return while Jonah de Grunge and Mia Scott make their debuts. And Evangelista rounds out the foursome that will contest this four corner survival match.

FOUR CORNER SURVIVAL: Jonah de Grunge vs. Evangelista vs. Mia Scott vs. The Betamax Kid

The match starts with all four in the ring at once as Grunge and TBK lock up. Spikey overpowers Grunge and pushes him into the ropes before whipping him across the ring and taking him down with a clothesline. Meanwhile Evangelista grabs Mia Scott, tosses her into the corner and connects with a series of chops, then a hip toss to take the debutant to the canvas. Spikey and Evangelista try to whip their opponents towards each other Scott and Grunge link arms, spin each other around and fly back and take Betamax and Evangelista down with big clotheslines over the top rope! Down to two in the ring, the way this match is meant to be, and Mia and Jonah circle each other for a moment. They hook up, Mia escapes Jonah’s grasp and connects with a European Uppercut, then another, then a series of knife edge chops.  Grunge smiles back and grabs his opponent, taking her down with a Japanese Arm Drag. He follows with a springboard moonsault but Mia moves and makes the tag to Evangelista.

The UK Dragon member is in and connects on Grunge with a running knee, sending him staggering back into the corner where she tosses him back to the middle of the ring with a Monkey Flip. Dave Spikey makes a blind tag and as Evangelista takes Jonah down with a suplex Dave flies off the top rope and connects with a splash on Grunge. The ref counts a pin but Evangelista instantly pulls Betamax off his opponent. Evangelista connects with a series of elbows on Spikey, pushing him back into the corner. She climbs out of the ring and tags herself back in. Meanwhile Grunge has rolled to the other corner and tags in Mia Scott, who rushes at Evangelista as she’s just getting through the ropes. Scott takes her down with a DDT, bounces off the ropes and connects with a seated dropkick before making a cover. But Evangelista is out at two. Mia then goes for a German Suplex but Evangelista spins out of the throw and lands on her feet. She then grabs Mia and goes for a German of her own, but Mia too spins through to her feet. Evangelista then falls back into the ropes after a dropkick, where Jonah de Grunge tags himself into this fast and frantic match.

Mia connects with a clothesline but Jonah pops back up. She then connects with another, but again Jonah is straight back to his feet. Jonah charges in this time, looking for the Clothesline from Hell, but Mia ducks it and takes Grunge down with an STO.  He gets to his knee, and tags out to Betamax. Betamax is in, dropkick from Mia. She stalks him, waiting for him to get up as she’s stood in the corner. He starts to get up and Mia connects with the Fulham Broadside (Shining Wizard)! She covers… but, no, when she was in the corner Evangelista got the blind tag! Mia’s not legal!

Evangelista grabs Mia and tosses her over the top rope, where she lands on Jonah de Grunge. The two fall into a heap while Evangelista grabs a dazed Dave Spikey. HEADBREAKER! And the pin is academic!

Your winner, Evangelista!

Smart blind tag from Evangelista won her that match, Mia Scott had it all tied up and would have won it if it weren’t for that. Mia can be proud of her FRONTIER debut, that’s for sure, she almost stole this. And Jonah looked impressive too. I think FRONTIER has another couple of great additions to the roster here.

Next up is former GFC Champion, Alex Jones, who goes one-on-one with one half of the current GFC Tag-Team Champions, “The American Wolf” Jason Richards. Richards came to the ring with his tag title belt wrapped around his waist before raising it high above his head for all of Belfast to see. I guess with The E.N.D. holding the GFC Tag-Team Titles we’ll be seeing more of those belts in FRONTIER, we may even have a title defence soon. But I digress, let’s get into the action.

Jason Richards vs. Alex Jones

Nice lock-up to start as they trade tight wristlocks with some fancy footwork. They trade arm drags and Jones hits a cartwheel dropkick for a two count. Jones delivers a beautiful tilt-a-whirl backbreaker/Russian leg sweep combo and then transitions into an octopus hold of sorts. Richards fires back with a running knee and then hits a backbreaker of his own before putting Jones into an inverted cloverleaf. Jones escapes that and delivers a big missile dropkick to Richards, which sends him to the floor. Both guys fight it out for a moment until Richards sweeps Jones’s legs from out under him, cracking his head and neck against a turnbuckle pad in the corner.

Richards tries for the inverted cloverleaf again and then manages to roll Jones up in a cradle for a two count. Richards sinks Jones into the guillotine choke, but Jones counters into the AJ-Lock (cross armbreaker) but Richards escapes via the ropes. Both men trade chops and kicks before Jones hits a back

elbow for a two count. Richards delivers a very impressive back superplex off the top rope, but Jones kicks out of that pin attempt as well. Richards fires off a few kicks but then Jones nails him with the AJ-guri before finishing him off with the Time to Burn (Shellshock).

Your winner, Alex Jones!

Another impressive win for AJ here in FRONTIER while Richards once again comes up short, although he almost had Jones a couple of times in that one. If he continues like this it surely won’t be long before he picks up his first win here in FRONTIER.

Now before we had another match we had an in-ring visit from Belfast’s own Jason Talbot!

— VIDEO —

“Rule, Britannia!” blasts over the speakers of the Waterfront Hall in Belfast and the crowd goes crazy as Jason Talbot appears through the curtain draped in the Union Flag. The same flag that was recently removed from Belfast City Hall much to the disgust of many Northern Irish residents who have been protesting ever since for it to be re-instated.

Talbot walks to the ring shaking hands with many fans, he slides into the ring and climbs the ring pole and hooks the Union Flag onto it which again brings about a massive cheer.

He takes the microphone and attempts to talk a few times but can’t due to the loudness of the crowd in his home city. Finally Talbot gets to speak.

Talbot: You see that flag? That flag up there? It is here to stay, no taking it down! No concessions! This is OUR FUCKING FLAG and we have the right to fly it in this country!! This is OUR wee country! I watched the news in disgust as I saw politicians vote to take down the flag because it offended them, the same people who for years supported terrorists! It’s a fucking disgrace! But tonight that flag will be flying in Belfast and I challenge anyone to come out here and take it down, for you will have to take it down over my dead body!

The crowd goes nuts

Talbot: I grew up not 15 minutes from this very hall in Dundonald, I spent many good times here in Belfast! And I am proud to call this place my home! And tonight I face Gabe Gambino, a man who once I called a friend. But as of late Gambino has had issues, a change in attitude… I don’t give a damn what he is going through, all he needs to know is tonight in Belfast NORTHERN Ireland.. Jason Talbot, and 3000 Northern Irish are going to give him a night he won’t EVER forget! He has competed round the world but there is nothing like 3000 screaming British and Northern Irish fans getting behind the man who grew up in this very city!! BELFAST!! This is our night to show the world that though we maybe small, we are the loudest and craziest fans in the world!! Belfast… Northern Ireland… I fuckin’ love you!!

Talbot drops the microphone and points to the flag once again before walking out shaking more hands with the fans.

— /VIDEO —

Talbot sure is one proud Northern Irishman and the fans were electric during his appearance. He’ll be back later in the night to face Gambino, and I’m not sure Gabe will ever have been in such a hostile atmosphere!

Next up debutant Alexia Brandt takes on veteran Harry Balkin. You may remember this came about after the Playboy made Brandt an offer on the last FRONTIER show. Now let’s see what happens when these two clash.

Alexia Brandt vs. Harry Balkin

Lockup to start. Balkin gets back up in the ropes so the ref breaks the hold only for Balkin to get a side headlock in. Brandt hits some rights to the kidney, then they trade chops till Balkin tries to roll up Brandt. Brandt reverses, tries to pin and gets a 1 count. Brandt with a European uppercut. She sends Balkin to the corner then hits a high knee. Brandt spreads the legs and stomps the mid section. She goes for a leg drop, and hits it! Balkin slides out, so Brandt tries for a baseball slide, but Balkin pulls the apron up and Brandt gets stuck between it and the ring. Balkin points at his brain, making out like he’s so smart. Balkin hits Alexia’s back with a barrage of fists then drops the leg. He sends Brandt into the ring then hits a neckbreaker and a pin for 1…2..NO!

Balkin with a scissor lock and a cravat combo submission. Balkin turns it into a front faced lock but Brandt with a punch to the kidney and sends Balkin to the corner. She goes for another toss, but Balkin reverses, sends Brandt to the corner, then runs for a kick only for Brandt to move and Balkin runs crotch first into the corner. Brandt hits a Snap DDT then hits a nice looking handspring moonsault. Pin for 1…2..NO!

Balkin out and back on the offensive. Running butt bump takes Alexia down and as she’s getting back up it looks like Harry’s going for the Groin Claw… but then realises what he’s doing and changes tact. But that momentary lapse is enough for Brandt to connect with Flashback (handspring enziguri). Balkin pops back up, but is clearly dazed. Brandt gets a bridging German suplex, but her arch isn’t as good as it should be… both sets of shoulders are down for the three!

This match is ruled a draw!

Well that was a short but action packed match. Brandt had it won, but her poor form on that bridge cost her there. Can’t say I’m surprised, Playboy is much bigger than she is, just getting him up and over is a feat in itself. I’m sure these two will want to do this again sometime down the line.

Now before we go any further, there was another guest backstage who had some brief words to say about another FRONTIER star.

— VIDEO —

The shot opens up with Troy Gafgen in the back, and he looks unimpressed.

Troy Gafgen: “Ya know, the more I watch things here in FRONTIER…the more I’m un-amused. I feel a sense of boredom, and that’s not good. The one thing that keeps me on my toes here is that Laurel is still roaming around. Laurel…I want you to know that I’m not done with you…no. I want you to understand that this has just begun! If you gave the guts to face me, you’ll know where to find me. Why not bring out all your Asylum ‘disciples’ and I’ll end all of your careers!”

— /VIDEO —

Troy Gafgen making an unannounced and surprise appearance here in Belfast, just to call out Laurel Anne Hardy. The two of them recently clashed over in our Japanese sister fed, Pro-Wrestling FRONTLINE, and now it seems that Troy has come to the UK to finish what was started a long time ago, and reignited in Tokyo.

Time for the home town hero, in singles action against the former GFC Champion, Gabriel Gambino. These two are no strangers to each other, they’ve fought many a time, but tonight will be extra special for Talbot.

Gabriel Gambino vs. Jason Talbot

Both men were tentative at the start. Talbot kicked Gambino to the outside and hit a no-hands, running plancha on Gambino, completely taking him out. The crowd went nuts for that big early move. Talbot followed that up with a shin-breaker on the ring apron. Talbot went to work on that injured leg after that. Talbot got a leglock, but Gambino rolled to the ropes to stay alive. Gambino connected with a dropkick to Talbot’s knee and then went to work on Talbot’s leg. Andreas Lasiewicz distracted the ref and Gambino used a chair to further damage Talbot’s leg before tossing the chair back out again before the referee could see it. Boos ringing around Belfast at that sequence of events.

Gambino worked over Talbot some more, but Talbot gave him a Last Call (superkick) out of nowhere to get back in the match. Talbot followed with a superplex and some more stiff kicks but Gambino survived the assault. Gambino hit a discuss lariat out of nowhere to stop Talbot’s momentum. Gambino followed that with a FONGUL!! (Angel’s Wings) 1…2…NO!

Gambino then gave Talbot a DDT and a big splash in the corner, Talbot avoided a top rope splash but ate a big Yakuza kick and rolled to the outside. Gambino THEN HITS A NO-HANDS CORKSCREW SENTON ON TALBOT! I don’t think I’ve ever seen Gabe fly like that! Amazing.

He tosses Jas back into the ring, and TALBOT COMES BACK WITH A LAST CALL! Talbot leaps up the  turnbuckle and tries to springboard off the ropes, but GAMBINO CATHCES HIM AND GIVES HIM AN ELECTRIC CHAIR SUPLEX: 1…2…NO! HUGE LARIAT FROM TALBOT! 1…2…NO! LAST CALL! 1…2…NO! Talbot so close there.

Gambino came back with a big DDT and another FONGUL! 1…2…NO! GAMBINO CAN’T BELIEVE IT! ANOTHER FONGUL! 1…2…3!!

Your winner, Gabriel Gambino!

A good win for Gabe, he was out there facing all of Belfast! But the bell sounding was far from the end of this contest as this video shows.

— VIDEO —

Jason Talbot and Gabe Gambino have gotten back to their feet after the match. Gabe and Talbot stare each other down before Talbot walks towards Gambino. He offers his hand as a sign of respect.

Gabe accepts and the two shake hands to a huge pop from the Belfast crowd. As Talbot goes to leave Gabe pulls him back suddenly and kicks Talbot in the gut and smashes Talbot to the ground with yet another Fongul!

Gambino then locks in the Eye of Medusa (Koji clutch) on Talbot as Andreas Lasiewicz slides into the ring. He looks down at Talbot screaming in pain and kicks him in the face. Gambino lets go of the lock and Lasiewicz picks Talbot up and delivers The Unforgettable Fire – (Argentine Backbreaker into Falling Reverse DDT)

The Belfast crowd are very angry and the booing of the pair reverberates around the building. However, Lasiewicz and Gambino laugh it off before Lasiewicz pulls the flag of the Republic of Ireland.. The Irish Tri-Color from his pants and waves it high. This throws the pro-union crowd in Belfast crazy and they begin throwing their cups and bottles into the ring. Gambino climbs the pole and takes down the Union Flag that Talbot had put up earlier and rips it up.

And as a final insult Gambino takes the Irish flag and drapes it over the fallen body of Talbot. Bottles and cups now fly into the ring along with a few chairs. There is a mini riot in the stands as many fans are VERY angry! Security struggle to keep them back as Gambino and Lasiewicz are lead from the ring with objects still being thrown at them for this disgraceful act in front of the Belfast crowd!!

— /VIDEO —

When I expected a hostile atmosphere for Gambino I did not envisage a riot. But with the disrespectful acts of the Godfathers of Wrestling I can’t say I’m surprised. Talbot received some medical attention at ringside while the crew cleared the ring of debris, but early signs were that he will be ok.

You may remember a couple of weeks ago Adam Stryker of the E.N.D called out CJ Osborne for this next match. He’s aiming to prove himself here in FRONTIER and wants to start by taking on a former GFC World Champion. Can Stryker claim a victory and move up the ladder here in FRONTIER? Or will CJ’s championship class knock back the young man? Let’s find out…

Adam Stryker vs. CJ Osborne

Bell rings and they lock up. Osborne’s locking up the arm of Stryker and working it over. Stryker rolls out and gets a dropkick. Side headlock takeover by Stryker and gets a 2 count. They both get in a couple of Irish Whips and Osborne gets a shoulder tackle on Stryker to take him to the floor. Stryker back in and Osborne’s in charge now, the crowd chanting his name. Irish Whip to Stryker but he grabs the top rope and dodges a charging Osborne who falls to the apron. Big running kick from Stryker to send CJ crashing to the floor.

LARIAT SENDS CJ OVER THE BARRIER AND INTO THE CROWD! Osborne crawls back over the barricade and Stryker throws him into the ring. Stryker with the advantage now. inverted DDT attempt, but Osborne escapes and tosses Adam to the canvas. Stryker back up quickly and Osborne whips him hard into the turnbuckle. Stryker crashes to the mat where CJ gets a pin for a 2 count. They trade shots and Stryker’s getting the advantage. Somewhat botched tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on Stryker but it does enough damage for another two count.

Waistlock on Stryker. Stryker gets out but Osborne hits Stryker with chops in the corner. Charges but Stryker jumps over onto the apron. Back in and Stryker out-maneuvers Osborne and gets an heel hook. Osborne struggles a bit and then kicks it off. Stryker charges and Osborne sends him over the top but Stryker gets a big kick from the apron. Goes up top and kicks off and nails Osborne with a dropkick! Some more offense, including a great suplex by Stryker and he gets a diving headbutt on Osborne! 1…2…kickout! Back on their feet and they exchange waistlocks. Into the ropes, and Stryker goes for a Headhunter Kick (Busaiku Knee Kick) but it’s dodged by CJ

German suplex by Osborne! Another! A third German suplex! FOURTH ONE is a release German suplex! 1….2….kickout by Stryker! Osborne up top and goes for a frog splash but gets knees from Stryker! Back to their feet and it’s a slugfest before a boot to the midsection by Osborne. Enziguiri by Stryker! SPINEBUSTER by Osborne! 1….2….Kickout!!! Stryker climbs up Osborne’s back and gets a victory roll but instead grabs a heel hook! Osborne struggles out but Stryker locks in the Kirā Klutch (Pentagram Choke) and eventually Osborne taps out!!

Your winner, Adam Stryker!

Well there we go, Stryker defeats a former champion and moves a step closer to his goal here in FRONTIER. Will Stryker call out another former champion? For that we’ll have to see, but it looks like there was someone else in Belfast eager to call out CJ Osborne…

[“Demons” by Tech N9ne plays through the arena as LJ Black, in a black Armani suit, is accompanied by his wife Trinity in a beautiful red dress as he makes his way to the ring. The crowd boos heavily as LJ holds the ropes open for Trinity to enter the ring before following her in as she takes the microphone.]

Trin: First off, LJ and I would like to thank Hanna Fox and Scott Mayo for allowing us this time to come out here and address the FRONTIER fans. In fact, I think the wrestling fans around the world will be buzzing after our little visit goes viral.

[Trin passes the microphone off to LJ.]

LJ: I’m here to speak to one man on a very important matter. That man is CJ Osborne.

[The crowd erupts at the mention of CJ’s name.]

LJ: Last fall, CJ and I were scheduled for a match in the MWA, but before that match could take place, CJ walked out on the MWA; he walked out on me, but not only that, he walked out on you, the fans. You see, what CJ did was deny the world a chance to see a classic wrestling match – CJ Osborne vs. LJ Black – a match I’m sure each and every person in this arena tonight would love to see.

[The crowd cheers at that notion.]

LJ: I know CJ has a match tonight, so I’m not going to call him out, but CJ, I have a challenge for you and I want you to think it over. In June, you’re sponsoring an event entitled Unsanctioned. I propose at that event, we give the fans around the world the match you denied them last fall: you and I one on one, to see just who the best man is – that is, if you’re man enough.

[The crowd is a mixture of cheers and boos at LJ’s words.]

LJ: And just to prove I’m not a completely heartless bastard, I’ll be donating my payday for this match to the Harbinger Foundation for terminally ill children. I await your response, CJ.

[LJ drops the microphone as he and Trinity exit the ring arm in arm to a mixture of cheers and boos.]

— /VIDEO —

The MWA’s LJ Black calls out CJ Osborne, that should be one hell of a match… if CJ accepts the challenge. And while we’re on the subject of Unsanctioned, you may want to check out their website for all the latest details. Several FRONTIER stars are set to compete over two nights of action at the O2 Arena, not least of which is the Hardaway/Gambino clash that tops off night two. The weekend will also see appearances from UWL World Champion Pat Gordon Jnr, Jonathan Collins, Any Given Sundaes, Tim Worthington, Freya Kane, Katherine Grayson, Chandler Scott and many more. FRONTIER will be represented by Andreas Lasiewicz, Alex Jones and Jason Talbot. And there’s likely to be more announcements over the coming weeks. We’ll keep you informed of all the latest developments.

And now it’s main event time, a match that took on a new unexpected twist earlier in the night when Matt Montell agreed to Szalinski’s request… if Chandler Scott wins he takes the number one contendership, but if Madman wins then he becomes the first ever GFC Commonwealth Champion!

Madman Szalinski vs. Chandler Scott

Chandler wants to bail as the crowd begins a “You’re going to get your fucking head kicked in” chant. Madman finds it mildly amusing, but doesn’t allow himself to laugh or react at all, he’s stony faced and looks determined as hell here. Bell sounds, they lockup, to the ropes and Chandler breaks clean. Lockup again, some mat work follows as they keep reversing each others holds, and they stand off as the crowd applauds. Test of strength now, they battle for position and Scott into a headlock, off the ropes and a shoulder block to Szalinski. Off the ropes, arm drags by Chandler and into an arm bar. Wristlock now, Szalinski rolls through, breaks it, dropkick and Chandler is not happy. They lockup again, Chandler escapes the arm bar, head scissors by Szalinski, Chandler escapes and Szalinski bridges up and gets the backslide, Chandler out, misses the kick and they stand off once again. The crowd start dueling chants for the pair, loving the early stages of this match which is like a chess game thus far.

Szalinski works for a surfboard, but Scott gets the ropes. Knee to the gut by Chandler, off the ropes and clotheslines Madman over the top rope, quickly following him out with a baseball slide that connects. The Harvard man grabs Madman, whips him into the ringpost but Szalinski gets his hands out in front of him and stops himself smashing into the cold steel. But Chandler quickly follows up with a textbook dropkick to the back which sends Szalinski crashing into the pole, busting his forehead open. Blood begins to drip down Madman’s face as Ariel comes over to check on him. The ref orders Scott to back off and get back in the ring, which he does.

Madman eventually gets back in, just before being counted out, having used as much time as possible to wipe his face clear of blood. As soon as he’s in the ring Chandler attacks, connecting with a knee lift.  He steps on the bloody face of Szalinski, off the ropes, jumping elbow drop and a two count.

Chandler attacks Szalinski from behind, off the ropes and a back elbow by Scott. Elbow off the ropes by Chandler and a cover for 2. Swinging neckbreaker. Misses a corner splash, but then rakes the back of Szalinski as he sets him on the top. Chandler then misses a corner dropkick, they trade forearms, uppercuts by Szalinski, off the ropes and a knee to the gut. Kicks to the back, and a cover for 2 by Szalinski. Chandler with a whip to the corner, counter by Szalinski and a charging elbow connects. Northern Lights suplex followed into Deathtrap (Front guillotine w/ leg scissors) by Szalinski! Usually we see him singing loudly at this point, but not today. Today he’s all business and is just yelling loudly as he cranks Chandler Scott as much as he possibly can. Blood is still running down Madman’s face from under his mask.

After a while Chandler gets the ropes. Szalinski releases but sets Chandler up top, where they battle with a series of big rights. Chandler knocks him off and then rakes Szalinski’s face off of the ropes. Szalinski then charges and knocks Chandler into the barricade! Szalinski then with a SICK jumping shin off of the apron! Back in, running back elbow from Madman.

Deathtrap try, countered and Chandler connects with some boots and then covers for 2. They trade rights from their knees, to their feet, they continue to trade, elbow strikes now and then a lariat by Szalinski. German is countered and a jumping shoulderblock by Chandler! Both men are down now, and trying to get to their feet. They are in opposite corners, charging dropkick by Chandler and a roll up for 2. Scoopstone (tilt-a-whirl piledriver) countered, knees by Chandler, Scoopstone countered again, swinging neckbreaker by Chandler, Harvard Surfboard is applied!

Szalinski yells, spitting blood as he powers his way to his feet, breaking the hold of Chandler Scott. Scott connects with a big right, but Madman just screams back at him. Chandler hits another, seemingly no affect still. Chandler bounces off the ropes and goes for the Harvard Hammer… BUT SZALINSKI COUNTERS INTO THE SCOOPSTONE!!! COVER! 1..2..NO!!! FOOT ON THE ROPES!! Madman can’t believe it, Chandler somehow got his foot onto the ropes. Szalinski drags Chandler Scott back to his feet and pushes him into the corner. READY! He steps back, sets himself.  DOWN! He charges in… AND SCOTT FLIES OUT OF THE CORNER WITH A HARVARD HAMMER!!! COVER!! 1…2…3!!!

Your winner, and new number one contender, Chandler Scott!

Scott wins it with the Harvard Hammer, countering the Tecmo Elbows! And with that he’s just got himself a re-match Jay Pride for the GFC World Heavyweight Championship. As Chandler celebrated his success a bloodied Madman Szalinski was being comforted by Ariel Shadows when this happened…

Matt Montell is making his way to ringside with the GFC Commonwealth Championship belt in one hand and a microphone in the other. He climbs the steps and gets into the ring, where Chandler Scott is first in line to kiss his ass. After brushing off Scott, Montell turns to Szalinski.

MM: Madman, you came at me tonight with a proposition. I liked your idea. Do you know why? Because I saw how fired up you were, I saw the determination in your eyes to walk out of Belfast with this title.

Montell holds the belt up in the air for all to see.

MM: You see I believed that, with your levels of ability and determination, you could stop this arsehole from getting another shot at the GFC World Heavyweight Championship.

He points at Chandler Scott as the fans begin to chant “arsehole, arsehole!”

MM: Now it would appear that I was wrong. But… But I could see just how close you came here tonight. So I want to reward you, I want to give you another chance to get what you want. In three weeks we head to London. And on that night you can hand pick your opponent… a Commonwealth Rules match… for the GFC Commonwealth Championship!

Montell drops the mic and holds the title aloft for all to see one more time before heading out of the ring.
