Szalinski is staring a hole through Balkin, looks like he’s trying to unsettle him or something. They do a little staredown and HERE WE GO!! Szalinski shoves Balkin off right before the bell and they circle around each other a little before hitting a lockup. Balkin gets a BIG bodyslam right off the bat and Szalinski moves to the corner to break things up. Szalinski gets a hip toss off of another lockup but misses the follow-up elbowdrop and they break to stare each other down again. Lockup with Balkin pushing Szalinski into the corner and JUST missing a wild right hand. Szalinski does the same thing and he misses as well. Szalinski gets a side headlock and is shot into the ropes but hangs onto them to avoid another big Balkin right hand. Balkin chases down Szalinski and tries to cut him off but Szalinski just hops out of the ring to try to calm things down, talking at the crowd a little before getting back into the ring.
Lockup and Szalinski pushes Balkin into the corner, catching him with three BIG rights before turning his back. When he turns around Balkin WAFFLES him with a right hand that somersaults Madman and sends him rolling to the floor. Back in the ring, Szalinski gets a go-behind but eats a big elbow and another right hand that sends him to the mat. Balkin is keeping an eye on Ariel on the outside before they lock horns into a Szalinski side headlock. Right hand from Szalinski puts Balkin on his ass. Szalinski gets the advantage with two hands on one, dropping Balkin to his knees and cranking on the arm before getting a couple of big right hands against the ropes. Irish whip from Szalinski and he ducks for a backdrop but Balkin gets a sunset flip for a two-count before Szalinski just starts laying in right hands, sending Balkin through the ropes to the floor. Ariel comes over to shout at Harry but Balkin comes up with a fist and she runs back to the corner. Balkin up on the apron and Szalinski gets a couple of right hands in, knocking Balkin backwards off the apron onto the floor. Szalinski’s out after him and RAMS BALKIN INTO THE RINGPOST!!! Balkin tries to crawl back into the ring but Szalinski stops him on the apron, suplexing him back in for a looooong two-count. Szalinski drops some knees into the gut of Balkin and moves to an abdominal stretch in the middle of the ring!
Balkin powers out of it into a hip toss but Szalinski is back on the attack, three swinging neckbreakers in a row! 1…2..BALKIN KICKS OUT!! Right hands from Szalinski and another long two-count before Szalinski picks him up for a SNAP DDT!!! 1…2…FOOT ON THE ROPES!! Szalinski’s taking over with right hands and Ariel gets up on the apron to argue with the referee as Balkin gets a roll-up with a handful of tights. He holds Szalinski for at least a five-count, but there’s no referee and by the time he turns around, Szalinski’s back in charge and dropping knees. Lariat from Szalinski!! Another long two-count as Balkin gets a shoulder up just in the nick of time. Szalinski goes outside to the top rope but Balkin gets a big right hand to crotch Szalinski on the top turnbuckle. HUT! HUT! HUT! HUT! The Tecmo Elbows rock Harry Balkin! Balkin staggers out of the corner… takedown from Szalinski and DEATHTRAP (front guillotine with leg scissors)! Szalinski is singing loudly and proudly as he has the move locked in.
“My Adidas, walked through concert doors, and roamed all over coliseum floors, I stepped on stage, at Live Aid…”
Before he could get any further with this weeks track Balkin has reached the ropes and forces the break again. Madman looks annoyed that he didn’t get to continue with Run DMC! Balkin gets back to his feet and tries to catch Szalinski by surprise with the GROIN CLAW!! Szalinski yelps in pain before punching the arms of Balkin and managing to free himself. Russian Legsweep from Balkin and a jumping fist drop to the groin to follow. Szalinski up to his feet but is holding his groin and is obviously in some pain. Madman looks stunned, grabs Balkin and whips him into the ropes, nailing him with a massive lariat. He heads to the top rope, steadies himself before launching into the air and crashing down on the Playboy with the X-BUSTER (Shooting Star Senton)!! Szalinski didn’t hit it cleanly, landing head first on the sternum of Harry Balkin. Szalinski may be dazed as hell but he manages to get the pinfall to win the match.
Your winner, Madman Szalinski!
Now that was one hell of a match. Both men giving it their all, a good old fashioned wrestling contest that was a close one to call right up until that X-Buster. I’ve not seen Madman use that before, apparently it’s what you may call a last ditch move, used only when absolutely necessary. And I guess he felt it was necessary to put down the Playboy! Well these two certainly wowed the crowd, there was so little between them. God damn I love this company!
