The two Canadians circle for a moment before locking up, and go straight into a series of takedowns with armdrags, snapmares and dragon whips all coming into play. After a minute or so Serena goes for a satellite DDT, but Adrian blocks it and turns it into a scorpion crosslock. Serena manages to unpick herself and roll him into a single leg Boston crab, which prompts an extended sequence of submission holds being reversed into other submission holds. They go back and forth some time with audacious and innovate stretches and joint locks; even when one of them has to pull off an impact move to survive, the instinct in both competitors tonight seems to be to go straight back to the submission attempt rather than a cover. There’s a very palpable sense of them trying to one-up each other.

For a time they seem evenly matched, but as the minutes tick on it becomes apparent than Serena is winning the war; her holds are on longer, and Adrian is having to do more work to escape them than she is to escape his. This is obviously starting to get to Voigt a little, as he starts losing his cool at times. This just makes Serena dig even deeper to press her advantage. Adrian finally makes a big play by reversing an octopus stretch into a full nelson facebuster. He starts stomping Serena, prompting boos from the many fans who wanted to see more submissions. Voigt ignores them and goes for a standing leg drop, but Raine catches the ankle to block it and dump Voigt on his ass! As she stands she keeps a hold on his leg and uses it to roll him into a sharpshooter! He struggles for the ropes, but she pulls him back, and he seems close to tapping. But eventually he manages to roll onto his side and thrash his legs to kick her away. As he staggers upright she gets behind him in a cutthroat for the Rain of Blood, but he answers with a mule kick right to the crotch! Voigt capitalises on the low blow by angrily shoving Raine into the ringpost then rolling her up as she rebounds, grabbing hold of the bottom rope for leverage to ensure the three count.

Your winner, Adrian Voigt!
