Well…..hello everybody! Bobby Belter here, coming from the Skydome Arena in Coventry, England! We managed to pack over 3,500 people into this little building, and every single one of them were ready for a night of FRONTIER wrestling that would be capped off with a Commonwealth Championship match, the first defense for new champion Summer Collins! She would face off against Evangelista, winner of the 2014 Open House! We also had appearances by Michael Hopkins, Jason X, The Truth, the Best of British, D.C. Wiland, and many more! We also knew that FRONTIER announced earlier this month via Twitter that they would be bringing a prior member of the FRONTIER roster back tonight…who would that be?

Standing in the middle of the ring is FRONTIER Owner, CJ Osborne. As usual he is dressed in a custom made suit. He looks around the arena with a smile before raising the microphone.
CJ: Good Evening Coventry.
Cheap pop… Yeah he did it.
CJ: Tonight we have what promises to be a hell of a show. However, before we get to that there is some business that needs to be attended to….I’ll be the first to admit that I made some mistakes when it came to how I ran this company. I allowed some things to distract me. I may have even overestimated my own management abilities. As a result, Frontier has suffered. For that I am truly sorry.
CJ lowers the microphone and paces the ring for a moment.
CJ: Some of that mismanagement has lead to the booking of myself and Andreas in a no disqualification match at Unsanctioned.
Fans around the arena cheer at the idea of the two authority figures of FRONTIER going one on one.
CJ: However, thats not why I am out here tonight. I’m standing in this ring to tell you that I am ready to try and right some of those wrongs. I have made a deal that I believe will help push Frontier to the next level. Effective immediately I am no longer the sole owner of Pro-Wrestling Frontier.
A small murmur runs through the fans around the arena.
CJ: I have sold an undisclosed portion of Frontier stock to a person who will provide what is necessary to get this company and its talent the recognition and exporse they need and deserve. Unfortunately that person could not join us tonight.
A few boos fill the arena.
CJ: I know… I know… It’s very disappointing. We had planned on reveal this tonight, but they had a family situation that prevented them from making the trip here tonight. That said, I promise everyone the announcement will be made February ninth from Dublin. I also promise it will be worth the wait. Thank you and enjoy the show.

A new owner! Well at least a partial owner, we don’t know how much of FRONTIER this person owns. I would have never expected this to be Mr. Osbornes big news. Who could it be? Anyone really? Will we even know who it is? Will they even know anything about wrestling? Is it a former Frontier wrestler? Someone who once helped create Frontier? So many questions, and no answers… Least not for a few weeks.
Well, first up we had Michael Hopkins in action against The Betamax Kid, scheduled to replace Xristus who, unfortunately, was not able to make his FRONTIER debut. Michael Hopkins was a fingertip away from being the GFC World Heavyweight Champion just two weeks ago, and from the moment you saw him tonight, you knew he wasn’t too happy about it…
The Betamax Kid vs Michael Hopkins
The crowd was mixed for The Betamax Kid, with the majority awaiting the inevitable with the entrance of Michael Hopkins. And even though he came up short in his last match, the fans in Coventry surely did not hold back in letting them know that they were still on his side. The place was on fire when he came to the ring second…but all he could do was wave half-heartedly, not even really looking at his opponent.
Once the bell rang, all bets were off. Michael took him in, and turned a simple collar and elbow tie-up into a gateway to hell for the long-time FRONTIER stalwart. With one shove back to the canvas, Michael began an onslaught consisting of shoulder charges in the corner, throws into the middle of the ring, and a pounding from pillar to post! The Kid was reeling, but had nowhere to go! He ducks a clothesline, but eats a boot to the gut! He gets out of the corner, but Hopkins still gets a hold of him! He’s sent to the ropes, and hiptossed all the way back across the ring! Finally, after one back elbow too many, Betamax Kid gets out of the ring to catch a breather. Or so he thinks, because the Welsh Dragon is right to the floor after him!
The ref starts his count, but Hopkins is content to just pitch the Kid into the railing, then back into the ring before five. Hopkins rolls into the ring, picking up a face-down Betamax Kid by the waist and driving him down with a German suplex without letting his feet hit the mat! A bridge only gets two, but mainly because Hopkins lets him go before dropping a forearm to his back, putting him back down from all fours. Hopkins brings the Kid back up to his knees, only to play a little footie with his torso (yelling out a distinct “BITCH! BITCH! BITCH!” every time he lands a sharp kick to the chest) and finishing off with what would surely be a goal kick to the head!
Betamax Kid is laid out, but Hopkins looks back at him with determination while holding onto the top rope. The fans shower him with appreciation, but he appears no less frustrated nor determined than when he started the match. Kid makes little effort to defend himself or even to move as Hopkins pulls him up to his feet, taking his time to do it. He leaves him to stagger (albeit standing) and runs to the ropes, coming back with a hard clothesline. Kid only staggers back, bouncing to the ropes. With a grunt of anger, Michael charges over to Kid…is he trying to do a hurricanrana? No – DIM DIANC WHILE HE’S STANDING UP! DOWN THEY GO! Hopkins on his back, Kid being choked out…the ref isn’t even bothering to check for a tap-out, he’s lifting the arm of betamax Kid. Once…twice…three times, and he is plumb out! This match is over!
Your Winner, Michael Hopkins!
We haven’t seen the Betamax Kid in a while, but we haven’t seen that side of Michael Hopkins ever! He had him beat and just kept going…I think he wanted people to know that he was still championship material here in Pro Wrestling FRONTIER! The fans still think so, I know they’d love to see him get another one-on-one shot at Chandler Scott!

In a quiet area backstage, Evangelista is pacing and going through warmup exercises. She’s got a big grey woolly jumper on over her ring attire.
Laurel Anne Hardy’s younger half-brother Matty Graves appears on the scene, gently tapping her on the shoulder. She turns and shoots him a slight smile.
Evangelista: Hey.
Matty Graves: Hey. How you feeling?
Evangelista: Nervous, but… y’know. That’s a good thing. Keeps you on your toes.
Matty Graves: Yep. Listen mate, I just wanted to say good luck, and… you know… we’re all there for you. Me, Lily, Jay, Laurel-
Evangelista snorts.
Evangelista: You mean Laurel who’s not even here tonight?
Matty Graves: Oh, no, c’mon Leanne – you know why she’s not here. You know she was cut up that she couldn’t make it.
Evangelista: Yeah. Well. I can worry about that later. Right now I ain’t thinking about anyone but Summer Collins.
Matty Graves: Of course. Don’t worry, Lea, I’ll let you get back to your – warm-ups, an’ that. Just wanted to wish you luck.
Evangelista: Thanks.
She smiles again. He nods and exits. When he’s gone. Evangelista breathes out slowly and resumes pacing, shaking her arms out.

Evangelista has that big Commonwealth Championship match ahead of her this evening. She certainly has the fans and her fellow wrestlers pulling for her. But will that be enough to survive the unbeaten streak of Summer Collins?
Coming up next, The Truth took on Jason X. This one was hot, mostly due to The Truth’s insane promotional video sent out earlier in the week. If you hadn’t seen it, proceed with caution. Jason X seems to be on a pendulum here in FRONTIER, with many key victories but also many losses. Every night seems to be the night he’s ready to break out…could the added edge of Truth’s slander be enough to give Jason X the advantage he needs?
Truth vs Jason X
Our fans may know that this week The Truth cut a typically warped promo accusing Jason of being a sexual predator, and Jason was not happy at all with this slander. The man called X is all fire to kick off this match, battering The Truth with rights and lefts. Truth does his best to defend himself, but the fury of Jason’s blows punches through The Truth’s defences, and the conspiracy theorist finds himself backed into the corner, hunkering down. Jason switches to stiff kicks, and then finally a running facewash. Jason backs out and throws up an arm and yells to the fans, “THAT’s the truth!”
The Truth pounces out and clubs Jason in the back of the neck with an elbow. Jason spins and they start trading furious blows. Wow, there is REALLY no love lost between these two guys! They bruise each other with an intense barrage of strikes, which ends when Truth finds a sudden standing switch and a high angle German suplex. Jason lands awkwardly and Truth is on him, hammering him with a similar salvo to the one Jason opened with.
Jason kicks back against The Truth and gets his legs around the neck. Truth tries to lift them off, but after a struggle, Jason finds a headscissors. Truth looks for a powerbomb, but Jason throws him into the ropes and charges at him so hard they both fly through! On the outside they fight all over the place, using the guardrail, ring steps and bare floor as weapons to tenderise each other’s bodies. Each man is much more intent on hurting the other than defending himself, and visible bruises are forming on their bodies. The fans stamp and cheer along with the bitter fight.
The peak of this ringside violence comes when The Truth whips Jason hard into the ringpost. Although the ref has been lenient about countouts, he yells to The Truth to take it back inside the ring, a request which the conspiracy theorist obliges. Back in the ring he gets a near fall, then wraps Jason into a convoluted submission I don’t even know the name of. Whatever it is, he’s got an arm and both legs trapped! Jason fights hard to get out of it, and manages to roll sideways and JUST hook his free fingertips over the bottom rope.
The Truth breaks the hold right on the count, and whips Jason into the ropes. On the rebound he looks for his Conspiracy Theory finisher, a leaping cutter, but Jason ducks it and hits the opposite side! He dives at Truth on the way back, but Truth finds a monkey flip. Jason lands on his feet! Jason lands on his feet – but eats a step-up enzuigiri from The Truth for another near fall.
The two men trade joint locks, both looking for the advantage. Truth finds a hammerlock backdrop suplex, but as he’s holding Jason to the mat, Jason powers back, reverses the hammerlock and hits a suplex of his own, this time a hammerlock front chancery affair. Hammerlock still applied, they stand, and Jason tries to flip Truth into an inventive victory roll style rana, but he has too much momentum! Truth rolls through and lifts Jason’s leg up in an ankle lock! No – Jason kicks Truth away!
But Truth is back in and swings around Jason before Jason can even stand, peeling him from the mat with a bridging German suplex for a pin. Jason breaks the bridge and escapes, lightning fast, springing off the ropes in a shooting star moonsault; Truth rolls aside and Jason crashes and burns. Truth with a flurry of vicious knees; the personal intensity of this match clearly has not diminished with time. Truth looks for his Lie Detector, a sharpshooter – but Jason kicks him into the ropes! While The Truth tries to disentangle himself, Jason clears his head. Truth finally gets free and charges. Jason rolls behind him, kicks his leg out, and locks him into a quick reverse headlock. He lifts Truth – X-FATE SPECIAL! He hooks the leg… one, two, three!
Your Winner, Jason X!
Perhaps somebody should do this to Jason X every week, if he’s going to be on fire like that! But even though Jason X proved he is not a man to mess with, I have this funny feeling that The Truth is far from done messing with his opponents.

Jay Pride’s standing before a wall emblazoned with the FRONTIER logo, wearing trackie pants and a FRONTIER T-shirt. He looks pensive.
Jay Pride: I can’t say I’ve always been a magnanimous kinda guy because, well, I havenae been. But I’m getting there. At the end of the last show, I was one wee stud away from regaining the GFC World Heavyweight Championship. But Chandler Scott did it again; nothing hurts more than losing when you’re so, so close, but I can still say: fair play to the man. Once upon a time I’d’ve pushed him off the damn ladder after he’d won – these days I can congratulate him. Well done Chandler, you earned that win.
A smirk creeps over his face.
Jay Pride: But that doesn’t mean I’m backin’ out of the title scene. Not a damn chance. Like I said I was literally less than an inch from being Champion right now. Chandler and I are two and two now, and it’s been unbelievably close every time. In Sheffield I came closer than anyone ever has to ending Chandler’s record-breaking reign.
There’s a small nod accompanying that last line.
Jay Pride: Michael Hopkins has made it clear he’s no’ done with chasing the title, and nor should he be. The man is one of the best. We got hungry youngsters around FRONTIER like Jason X and Jason Richards who’d love a crack. Veterans, former world champions, like Pat Gordon Jr and Shane Tallin, looking for another mountain to conquer. My own protege Leanne Evangelista has promised the world she’ll have that belt in her arms in 2014. Graham Clauson made a massive statement at the end of the last show. But with respect to all of the aformentioned… we all know what the number one match the world wants to see is.
He shifts his weight a little.
Jay Pride: Chandler, you and me respect each other’s ability a lot, and neither of us is willing to settle for second best. We electrify the FRONTIER arena whenever we hook up. Four matches we’ve had together, and they’ve been four stone cold classics. You recently suggested that we give FRONTIER its most epic instalment yet: an iron man match. You, me, and sixty minutes all on pay-per-view.
Jay nods again.
Jay Pride: I like the sound of that. If you meant that, and if the brass are up for it, then I’m in. Two of the finest technical wrestlers in the world giving everything they’ve got, using every last hold they know, for one full hour. What could be better than that?
He smiles his boyish, charming smile.
Jay Pride: Chandler… let’s do it.
He folds his arms confidently, and we fade.

Jay Pride and Chandler Scott, one hour of Iron Man match? When can we get tickets to THAT?
This next one was also full of bad blood. A few weeks ago, the Best of British crossed paths with D.C. Wiland after D.C. was more than willing to call them out on their less than stellar attitudes. Nigel is cocky and arrogant, but he also holds a victory over Wiland’s bodyguard and friend Rob Riley. This week, Wiland took matters into his own hands…
Nigel Kensington III vs D.C. Wiland
Referee has to hold Wiland and Kensington away from each other before the bell. D.C. takes off his “Shitlist” t-shirt and throws it right at Nigel’s face, and it’s obvious that one half of BoB is already reaching his boiling point. The bell rings and Nigel charges at D.C. right away. However, Wiland expects that and drops the englishman with a drop-toe-hold and quickly transitions into a grounded front facelock, keeping Kensington’s neck in a tight grip. Nigel gets on his knees, shooting jabs towards the midsection of his opponent, which eventually makes Wiland to break the hold. As both men are on their knees, they began exchanging slaps. One stiff slap follows another, but Wiland eventually dodges one and grabs his opponent in an STO position, dropping him with a Flatliner and getting the first two count of the match..
Wiland locks in the 25:17, his variation of the Crippler Crossface, trying to end it soon, but Nigel is smart and turns it into a rollup, getting a quick two count as well. This time it’s Wiland charging wildly at Nigel, only to get taken down with an Armdrag. Kensington keeps the hold of D.C.’s arm and starts putting pressure on his shoulder with a simple submission hold, adding the pain with elbow shots to the collarbone. Wiland answers on the same note as he back elbows Nigel with his free arm. After several shots, the hold is broken, Nigel stumbles back and Wiland uses the ropes to get up and shakes off the pain in his shoulder. He attempts a Clothesline with the healthy arm, Nigel ducks, Wiland bounces off the opposite ropes and runs right into a Back Body Drop. Nigel places D.C. into a seated position and attempts to lock in the shoulder submission once again, but D.C. quickly turns around and lands a stiff uppercut to the jaw of the BoB member. Kensington falls on his back and Wiland quickly grabs a hold of both of his legs. He catapults him into the turnbuckles. Afterwards, Kensington stumbles back right into a Schoolboy, which leads to another nearfall.
Nigel, still rocked from the landing on the buckles, is on all four as he attempts to get to a vertical base. Wiland shows off his athleticism as he lands a Standing Moonsault over Nigel’s back, sending him back to the canvas again. Another pin cover, once again leads only to two. D.C. gets up and smashes his right forearm against the palm of his left hand, signalling one of his trademark moves. He moves to the apron and waits until Kensington is up on his feet. Once that moment comes, D.C. slingshots himself over the ropes, going for a forearm smash… but Nigel turns it around into an Ace Crusher counter! He covers quickly, but Wiland manages to get his shoulder up in time. This time it’s the Brit who grabs a hold of both legs of his opponent, but instead of a Catapult, he locks in a Boston Crab. D.C. tries to crawl to the ropes, but Nigel notices it and drags him to the center of the ring. Wiland, after a while, manages to roll under Nigel’s legs and then push him away using the power of his legs. He gets to a vertical base, only to get turned inside out with a Lariat. NGIII covers, only for two however.
Time for some high-flying, he signals as he starts climbing the turnbuckle, with his back to the ring, apparently going for a Moonsault. That is a mistake, however, as Wiland gets up once again and shoots a Superkick towards the leg of the Englishman, who falls rear first on the top turnbuckle. D.C. adds a little insult to injury with a slap over the back of the head before he drops him with The Angerbreaker. Referee’s hand hits the canvas once, twice, but before it can finish the trifecta, Nigel gets his shoulder up. Wiland points at the laid out opponent in a shooting a pistol motion, then picks him up and puts him in the Hangman’s Neckbreaker position. He goes for the deadly Lariat he calls The Sabre, but Kensington ducks right in time to dodge it. D.C. gets a vicious kick to the leg from behind, then a Saito Suplex. Nigel covers and gets one, two, but not three. Wiland holds the back of his neck after a tough landing and Nigel seems to be dead set on finishing the match off. Wiland gets up, Nigel locks him in the Inverted Facelock… but there’s no Social Whirl as D.C. slides out of the hold and rocks Nigel with an elbow to the jaw.
Kensington stumbles back to the ropes, then takes a step towards Wiland only to get doubled over with a kick to the gut and dropped with The Chocolate Flavour DDT. Nigel rolls on his back, Wiland goes to turn him around and put him into 25:17… but gets rolled into a Small Package instead! He kicks out right before three, both men are up quickly and Wiland performs a roll-up of his own, this time a Backslide. Nigel gets a shoulder up, gets up and avoid a short-arm Lariat attempt, getting behind D.C. and locking him in a waistlock. He runs his opponent into the ropes and goes for O’Connor Roll, but Wiland holds onto the ropes and Kensington backrolls on his own. Just as he glances back at D.C., only thing he sees is the shoe of The Main Man Superkicking him in the face. Wiland falls onto his opponent, making the cover, but to much surprise Nigel kicks out again!
This one has been great so far…and just when it looked like these two were going to go at it one final time…Rupert had to go and jump in the ring, getting Wiland from behind…at this point, the match was thrown out after Rupert was sent over the ropes and to the apron.
This match has been ruled a no contest!
But this one was not quite over…
– VIDEO –
Wiland and Nigel meet in the center of the ring, trading right hands. Again, Rupert hits D.C. from behind with a chop block. The crowd begins to boo heavily as the Best of British begin to lay in toe kicks to Wiland’s gut, backing him into the corner. Rupert charges in first.
Wiland backdrops Rupert over the top rope, sending him all the way to the floor. Nigel runs in at him, but is met with a huge right hand to the roaring approval of the fans in attendance. Staggering back, Nigel is about to be laid out with another superkick, but Rupert pulls him out underneath the bottom rope at the last minute.
– /VIDEO –
D.C. Wiland almost beat both of them down! The crowd loved it! Nigel is pulling Rupert back, Wiland’s begging them to come get some more, but it’s not happening tonight. Eventually, though, D.C. Wiland will get his hands on the Best of British!

We open in a corridor of the SkyDome Arena as a figure in a smart grey suit is seen walking towards a door marked “FRONTIER Management”. The man pauses at the door, adjusts his pale blue tie and knocks three times.
“Come in!” comes the reply from beyond, clearly the voice of CJ Osborne. The man opens the door and walks in, greeting CJ with a smile.
???- CJ, good to see you.
Osborne looks up from some paperwork and smiles back.
CJ- Tim? Tim Worthington, as I live and breath.
CJ gets up from his desk and walks round in front, shaking the hand of his old MWA colleague. He takes a perch on the front of his desk.
CJ- How are things?
Tim- Pretty good, actually. Thanks. How about you?
CJ- They’ve… been better. But let’s not worry about that. What brings you to Coventry tonight?
Tim- Well, I have a proposition for you.
CJ- Oh? Shoot.
Tim- Some of my buddies have been appearing for FRONTIER for a while now, on deals that are…. unbefitting talent of their calibre.
CJ- Ooookaaaay. Who, exactly, are we talking about here?
Tim- Marcie. Mike. Dave. Balam. Oliver.
Osborne nods, standing up and making his way back to his chair.
CJ- Ah, yes, the “enhancement” talent?
He motions for Tim to take a seat, which he does.
Tim- Them’s the ones. I just think they’ve been “enhancement” talent for a long time, never really given the opportunities that should be afforded to such loyal, talented individuals. They require a better deal, effective immediately.
Osborne looks confused that Worthington, son of former FRONTIER GM Matt Montell, would come to him with this matter.
CJ- I’m sorry, Tim, I really am. I’ve known you a long time, we go way back, but this isn’t something I’m going to be able to discuss with you.
Tim- Is that a can’t or a won’t, CJ?
CJ- A can’t. I can only discuss their deals with them directly or their agent. And I know they don’t have an agent.
Tim- Well they do now.
Tim produces a document from his jacket pocket and tosses it down on the desk in front of Osborne.
Tim- You’ll notice all their names are on there. As well as a few others.
Osborne picks up the envelope and takes a look at its’ contents.
CJ- So I see. Some moderately impressive names on this list. And some I have never heard of in my life.
Tim- Well you will, soon enough, once you give them all contracts to join FRONTIER.
Osborne looks up from the file in surprise.
CJ- All of them?
Tim- All of them. Including yours truly.
Osborne is stunned into silence for a moment.
CJ- That’s… twelve full time contracts, Tim, I can’t just sign twelve new wrestlers in one go! As much as I’d love to have you back in the ring, you know FRONTIER is a small company with minimal budgets; we can’t do this. I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to pass.
Tim- Don’t think of it like twelve new full time wrestlers. Four of them are already here in some capacity and as their agent I’ll take my percentage of their bookings, so you don’t have to pay me a separate wage. And we’re not after big money, just a fair crack of the whip and a chance to do what we love.
CJ- It’s very nice of you to do this for your friends, Tim…
Worthington stops him.
Tim- Hey, this benefits you as well. You want FRONTIER to get a new TV deal and you recently said that the company isn’t ready. You need stability, you need talent you can rely on; guys who are loyal and will stick with you through the toughest of times. That’s what these guys are. Marcie, Mike, Dave… they’ve been treated like shit by this company; but they’re still here.
CJ- Counter offer… I tear up your friends’ enhancement contracts…
Worthington raises an eyebrow as CJ pauses for a moment.
CJ- …and replace them with one new contact; with all twelve of your names on it.
Worthington’s other eyebrow raises and he tilts his head to one side and let’s out a little “hmm” that shows he was taken by surprise.
Tim- One contract with twelve names. How do you propose that will work?
CJ- All twelve of you get your chance, but only one at a time. Or two at a time in the case of a tag-team bookings. The bookings will be considerably better paid than the enhancement deals, but less than hiring all twelve of you individually. Then you can split the money any damn way you want.
Tim- That… could be workable. I’ll put your proposal to the guys and see what they say.
CJ- Good, let me know.
CJ stands and holds out his hand, Tim stands, shakes his hand and leaves the office.

Tim Worthington is back! Thats huge for FRONTIER and British wrestling
And now it’s main event time….Evangelista, one-half of the Dragons, which is one of FRONTIER’s greatest tag teams…she went through everybody, from one to done, and won the Open House battle royal! She earned her shot at Summer Collins tonight. But Summer Collins has been on a ten-and-zero warpath in FRONTIER, one that has went through everybody she has faced! And thanks to the help of a yet-to-be-identified masked intruder, she was even able to win the GFC Commonwealth Championship! These two ladies were in the limelight this evening…and “delivering” was the understatement of the night when it came down to what we got…
GFC Commonwealth Championship
Evangelista vs Summer Collins
The bell rings to signal the start of round one and the two women circle around, Collins spouting a tirade of abuse at the challenger, who ignores it and beckons Collins to get down to business. Collins does as the two lock up, collar and elbow. Evangelista pushes Summer into the ropes, gets a knee into her gut and looks to whip her across the ring. But Collins puts on the breaks and throws herself backwards, hoping to connect with an early Pele kick, which Evangelista avoids as she rolls to the side. The result is the Champ landing on her back and rolling through to her knees, holding the middle rope to steady herself. She looks annoyed and a little shaken, but she doesn’t let it affect her for long as she connects with a low dropkick to the legs of the advancing Evangelista. Collins moves quickly to lock in the Crippler Crossface but Evangelista is quickly in the ropes and the Champion is forced to release her challenger.
Evangelista is back up and they hook up again, this time Summer gets a knee to the gut and follows up with a neckbreaker and a pin attempt, but only a one count. She stomps on the shoulders of the challenger, who wriggles her way to the ropes and safety. Evangelista rolls her arm around, shaking off the blows to her shoulder, before grabbing the Champ, whipping her into the ropes and taking her down with a clothesline. But that seems to have aggravated her shoulder a little and she’s not quick enough to follow up. Collins gets back up, grabs the arm of Evangelista and twists her round into a hammerlock. Evangelista quickly spins out and gets Collins into a side headlock. Collins adjusts and transitions into a rear waist lock, but then Evangelista spins round, grabs the leg and trips the Champ, and applies an ankle lock!
Summer is quickly looking for the ropes, but can’t reach. So she manages to twist herself around and boots Evangelista in the face, freeing herself from the hold. Summer gets up, grabs Leanne and whips her hard into the corner. She charges in afterwards with a jumping knee and comes out of the corner with a bulldog that gets a two count. Just as the two get back to their feet the bell sounds the end of the first round and both women retreat to their corners.
The second round again starts with the two women circling each other, although this time it’s Evangelista who’s mouthing off to her opponent. Summer stands with arms open, offering Evangelista an easy target. The challenger obliges and charges in, but Collins moves quickly to sidestep Evangelista, grabbing her and getting her into a sleeper. Evangelista jumps, puts her feet on the middle ropes and pushes backwards, sending Collins crashing to the mat; Evangelista rolls backwards and ends up crouched over the Champs’ head where she quickly gets into a grounded head-scissors. Summer struggles for a while until she ends up on her knees, from there she gets into a handstand position. She stays there for a moment and shows off, splitting her legs open and then closed again in a move that garners some wolf whistles from some corners of the audience. Then she manages to flip backwards, freeing her head from the legs of her opponent. She poses for the fans for a moment with a big grin on her face. Evangelista doesn’t look as happy as she grabs Collins from behind and connects with a big forearm, then another, then another. She whips Collins into the ropes and charges in after her, but Summer grabs the ropes and stops herself, then drops to the canvas and pulls the top rope down. Evangelista flies over the top and crashes to the floor in a heap.
The referee begins the mandatory 20 count as Summer Collins joins in, cheering each second. Evangelista is holding her shoulder again as she gets back to a knee while the count is at ten. By fourteen she’s stood by the ring apron and looking to roll back in, but Summer has other ideas. Collins charges across the ring and connects with a baseball slide, sending Evangelista flying back into the guardrail. Collins goes back to cheering the count as Leanne struggles through obvious pain. She’s down to a knee and the count is at eighteen. At nineteen she’s back up and by twenty she’s JUST back in the ring having slid in under the ropes.
Summer looks pissed to see Evangelista back in the ring and goes back to work on her shoulder, a hammerlock is followed by a German suplex. But the resultant pin attempt only reaps a two count. Before Summer can complain to the referee the bell goes to signal the end of round two.
Round three started with Collins in a real mean mood, going right after the shoulder of the challenger again. But Evangelista was rested in the break and seems more prepared. As Collins charges in Evangelista catches her with a European uppercut. Then another. Then a third. Collins is rocked and Leanne takes advantage, DDT’ing the champ to the canvas. She pulls Collins up, whips her into the corner and charges in after. She connects with knees while grabbing Summer’s head, leaning back and monkey-flipping her out of the corner. Summer gets back up quickly but is clearly dazed, swinging wildly at the challenger, who manages to duck a swing and nail a Jumping enzuigiri. She makes a cover but Collins kicks out at two and rolls out of the ring to allow herself time to recover. The referee begins the 20 count again, and it’s clear that Summer is going to make the most of this time and regain her breath. By twelve Evangelista has had enough and rolls out of the ring, going after the champ. Naturally Collins runs away, going around the corner and then sliding back into the ring. Evangelista chases her, sliding in behind her, but Collins has rolled out of the other side of the ring. Evangelista rushes across the ring and Collins ducks around the corner again, avoiding an expected aerial assault. But Evangelista bounces off the ropes, turns and runs diagonally across the ring, diving through the ropes and taking the champ out with a suicide dive!
The crowd goes wild after that unexpected turn of events, chanting for the challenger. But both Evangelista and Collins are down after that one and the referee has no choice but to start counting. By ten there’s no movement, by fifteen Evangelista is up to a knee and by eighteen she’s pulling herself onto the ring apron. But at nineteen Collins leaps forwards and grabs her leg, pulling her backwards and causing her face to smash into the apron. The referee reaches twenty.
There’s an air of confusion around the building as people remember that Commonwealth Championship matches cannot end in a draw. The referee is in conversation with the timekeeper at ringside as well as other FRONTIER officials. He beckons over the ring announcer and says something to them.
Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen, this contest cannot end in a draw so the count out merely signals the end of round three. This bout will continue with round four!
The fans cheer loudly and proudly. “This is FRONTIER! *clap-clap-clapclapclap* This is FRONTIER!”
Round four begins but both competitors are looking exhausted and neither of them rushes out from their corners. Evangelista seems groggy from hitting her head while Collins seems to be favouring her left hip after being clattered into by her challenger. Evangelista, despite her fogginess, seems buoyed by the fact she almost ended Summer’s perfect FRONTIER record. She claps her hands over her head, getting the crowd going again and feeding off the atmosphere they are creating. A running knee starts this one off and Evangelista follows up with some forearm strikes and an armdrag leading into an armbar, but Collins is quick to reach the ropes. Evangelista pulls her back to her feet but Summer quickly spins round and gets Evangelista into a sleeper, looking for the Summer’s End (sleeper neck breaker). But before she’s able to nail the move Evangelista reverses it into a sit-down chinbreaker! She makes a cover but Summer gets out at two.
Collins seems fired up after that and strikes back, getting some shots into the gut while she’s still on her knee and then getting up and kicking the leg of Evangelista, sending her dropping to her knee. Collins reacts quickly and nails a beautiful Shining Wizard! She then leaps onto the ropes and connects with a picture perfect springboard moonsault! Summer tries a pin but only gets a two count. She then pulls Evangelista back to her feet and spins her round, taking her back to the canvas with a German Suplex that gains her another two count. Summer argues with the referee about a slow count before returning her focus to her opponent. She grabs Evangelista and pushes her back into a turnbuckle. She connects with a few back elbow shots before stepping back to the opposite corner. She runs across the ring and does a cartwheel, followed by an attempt at a somersault splash. But Evangelista has spun out of the way!!
In fact not only has Leanne spun to the side but she’s managed to hook Summer’s legs over the top rope and tied them up around the ringpost, leaving the Champion dangling upside-down from the turnbuckle! Evangelista readies herself for a running dropkick but then realises that the referee is counting, having forgotten that being tied up in the ropes with your feet off the floor counts as being “down”. So instead she leans against the ropes and watches Summer struggle to free herself while the referee counts. The referee is at seven before Summer is anywhere near being able to get herself loose, and just as she looks like she’s about to do it the ref counts nine. And then the bell signals the end of the round!
Evangelista drops to her knees and bangs the canvas, knowing just how close she just came to winning. The referee helps Summer get free and both head back to their respective corners, crossing each other in the middle of the ring. Summer says something under her breath as they cross paths, and Evangelista stops dead in her tracks, holding up a hand to her ear and being heard to say “what was that?” Collins turns back to face her and gets right in her face, spouting off at her. Evangelista stays stoic as Collins launches a tirade of abuse, before realising the futility of it and walking away. Leanne must have said something at that point because Summer spins round and connects with a massive punch to the side of her opponents face! The referee looks to interject but Evangelista pushes him aside and she connects with a punch of her own on the Champion!
This time the referee gets in between the two properly and forces both back to their corners. He then motions to the ring announcer and says something.
Announcer: The referee has given both competitors a warning for using a closed fist. Should either be seen to use a closed fist again in this bout that person will be disqualified!
The women have time to calm down before round five begins, but when it does they’re right back to being at each others throats. Quite literally as Collins tries to choke Evangelista in the corner with the ropes early on after gaining the advantage with a running forearm and a DDT. Evangelista fights back and gets Collins into a hammerlock, although Summer reaches back and grabs the head of her opponent… MONEY CLIP (stunner)!!! She makes a cover… but Evangelista kicks out at two and a half!!
Before Evangelista can get back to her feet Collins follows up with a Bow and Arrow Submission hold, which has the challenger in trouble until she manages to escape slightly and reaches the ropes. Summer is forced to back off but charges in again, this time Evangelista meets her with a big European uppercut before getting Collins into an inverted facelock and blasting her with forearm blows to chest! Collins is reeling now and Evangelista spots her opportunity. She grabs the Champ and looks for the Headbreaker! She adds a jump to it…and that’s the end of the round! Both ladies fall to the mat, but make it to their corners.
Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, this match will continue with a sixth and final sudden death round!
Everybody is on their feet, even the champ and her challenger. When the bell rings to begin round six, the weary ladies still give it everything that they have left. Summer dodges a charging Eva, Eva off the ropes…Summer with a high leg lariat! Eva cartwheels out of the way! Evangelista with the roundhouse kick…Summer ducks out of the way! Summer tries to sweep the leg…Evangelista jumps out of the way! Summer gets behind her! GERMAN SUPLEX!
One…wait a second…
Two…Summer’s shoulders are down too! They’re both down!
Three! Summer’s on her knees, trying to celebrate…Evangelista sits up…the referee is informing us what we can’t believe, but now have no choice…
This match has resulted in a draw! Still the GFC Commonwealth Champion, Summer Collins!
The referee went to raise both women’s arms…and Summer Collins outright threw a fit! When she learned that her record was no longer 11-0, but 10-0-1, she almost threw a temper tantrum in the middle of the ring! Evangelista walked over, got an earful, and just walked off waving her hands. The crowd continued jeering Summer Collins, livid over the draw decision, as she left the ring pouting the entire time. It was clear that we would need a second match to determine who was indeed the better competitor!
So that was it for us from Coventry! Four great matches, one amazing championship contest – and did I mention we have new management? How is this going to affect the wrestling world? How is our General Manager going to react to this news? We are told the new owner will be with FRONTIER when it comes to Dublin, Ireland. But first, we’ll have the supercard of the century in just two weeks, when Hope Marie brings us Unsanctioned II live from Melbourne, Australia! We’ll see you there!
